Idolatry is self-abasing.
Idolatry is when we put something above us that is intrinsically beneath us.
The work of men's hands is beneath us - a creation is not greater than the creator.
To put money, tech, transportation, weapons, celebrities, etc. above us ... debases us.
God, our Creator, is intrinsically above us, and belongs preeminent in our lives.
