Welcome! I am starting this new blog for a couple of reasons:
First, we started a YouTube channel for our scripture-memorizing songs and other random antics of our family. This blog is to complement the channel.
Second, this blog will do more than the channel. I am going to be posting analyses of various general conference talks. I love LDS General Conference! With the new curriculum starting 2018 focusing even more on conference talks, I offer my insights and ideas. I enjoy studying the talks with a mind to create discussion from them. In the past, I have had the opportunity to teach from a few and I have also prepared several for others to teach. ...
Most of my callings right now are music-related callings, and I REALLY MISS TEACHING! But ... why should that stop me from studying them in-depth? I don't have to be called as a teacher to analyze the talks. (I might as well still get the benefits - at the very least!) Not everyone is comfortable translating a conference talk into a discussion (and that's ok!), but we'll be asked to do this soon more than ever. Maybe one or more of my points will spark someone feeling stuck or unsure how to present a talk. So this blog is a place for me to sort things out and an offering to inspire others - and DISCUSS with others.
